- SMS Passcode: For an extra layer of security, you can require an SMS passcode. The recipient will get a unique code on their phone that they have to enter to open the email. This is a great way to ensure the message is only seen by the intended person.

Using Confidential Mode is simple, and it's a habit you should adopt whenever you're sending sensitive data.
- Compose Your Email: Open Gmail and start composing your message as you normally would.
- Find the Confidential Mode Icon: Look for the icon in the bottom row of the toolbar. It looks like a clock face with a padlock. Click it.
- Set Your Options: A new window will pop up. From here, you can choose two things:
- Set an expiration date: Select how long you want the message to be available.

- Send Your Email! Once you’ve set your security options, click "Save." Now, you can hit "Send."
When the recipient receives the email, they won't see the message body right away. They'll see a notice that the message was sent in Confidential Mode and a button to view it. If you chose the SMS passcode option, they’ll be prompted to enter a code sent to their phone before they can access the message.
