While Alexa is only supposed to start recording after you say the wake word ("Alexa," "Echo," etc.), the truth is that it keeps recordings of some of the things you say to it. The simplest way to implement this daily data scrub is by using a voice command that clears the entire day's history. Make it a new habit you perform every night, right before you go to sleep.

Just say: "Alexa, delete what I said today."

This single command tells your device to erase everything it recorded and retained from the preceding 24 hours.

Pro-Tip: Create a Routine

You can make this even easier by setting up a custom Alexa Routine. Try creating a routine called "Goodnight Security" that, as the final step before turning off the lights, executes the custom voice command: "Delete everything I said today." This ensures you delete all of your commands from the whole day without having to remember the exact phrase.
